BUCS

BUCS stands for British University and Colleges Sport (until the season 2007/2008 it was know as BUSA). It is the main competition for our club because it involves playing at the highest level in terms of british universities. It requires us to travel around the country (Last year Bristol, Leeds, Bath, Portsmouth, Kent, Kettering) and play against other teams of a very high standard, which is always awesome. The competition is held for both mens' and womens' teams (there is no competition for mixed teams) and we play in the Western Conference region. Because of our outstanding performance last season (2007/2008), the season 2008/2009 we are in Mens' and Womens' 1A leagues. Beach Competitions

As well as indoor competitions, there are also opportunities to play beach volleyball in the summer. In the 2008/2009 season we entered two mens' in the beach student cup and one of our teams finish in the 3rd place. We had loads of fun, as well as playing some great beach volleyball. Many other beach competitions take place in the summer all over the country. Another we entered was the Yellowave beach tournament which we won with the added bonus of playing in some sunshine!

    Grass Competitions

We also participate in grass competitions in spring/summer months. Our favourite is the Coaver Open held in Exeter over two days. This is a relaxed sociable tournament; anyone from any part of the club can enter and have a very enjoyable weekend.
